I am a Miami native and former family photographer. In 1991, I graduated from the University of Georgia then earned an MBA from the University of Miami. I taught memoir writing in prison and still write with incarcerated men. One of my favorite jobs is working with teens on their writing. As a writing tutor and coach, I assist in the crafting and editing of personal essays and manuscripts. I spend my free time working on getting my own writing published.
Click on the links or visit "My Publications" page to read my essays in The Washington Post, Mutha Magazine, Scary Mommy, Ravishly, Modern Loss, NextTribe, Business Insider and Huff Post.
My stories and my voice can also be heard on Writing Class Radio, an award winning podcast I co-produce and co-host which has been downloaded more than one million times.
